The Netherlands is known for many extraordinary things. Producing a great margarita is not one of them. As a result, my at-home cocktail making skills have improved greatly. This is a good/bad situation for obvious reasons.
The ingredients in a classic margarita are quite simple. The tricky part is finding just the right proportions. It took a few taste tests (and a couple headaches) but we think we’ve mastered it.
// RECIPE //
- 1 1/2 ounce Gold Tequila
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 1/2 ounce Agave Syrup
- 1 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
- Mix all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker.
- Shake well!
- Serve over ice with or without salt on the rim. Garnish with a lime wedge.
